Very estrange. with your RS485MOD.vi that you originally sent me (see above in thread) it works!! You vi uses the MODBUS libraries. The syntax is in RTU (confirmed since it works). Not clear why it will not work with the simple serial communication. I will dig deeper and keep you updated with anything I find out, but problem solved for now!
