Max cant find CRio?

ok having a small issue when setting up a new c-rio on a system only hooked to a local network or with a crossover cable.

When I hook up a new c-rio max will not detect it

I can take the same c-rio and hook it to our company network and assign it a static IP on a differnt machine

then go hook it back up to my stand alone system and max will still not find it

If I go to windows command prompt and ping the address I assigned it then go back to max it detects it.

I was thinking it might be some netowrk setting on my pc but its weird about the ping fixing it and I tried it on a switch and cross over cable?

Hey cbt,

It is very interesting that the ping causes your cRIO to be discovered by MAX, had you been hitting refresh on your remote systems before pinging?  It may be that pinging alerts MAX to the cRIO being present somehow.

Hey cbt,

I would try checking your firewall settings and make sure MAX is allowed access to your network.
