Hello!

Thank you for posting to the NI Forums!

What version of MAX do you have? I would recommend trying the MAX Database Corruption procedure to see if that fixes the problem. If that still is not succesful, I would recommend repairing one of the drivers that installs MAX such as VISA or DAQmx.

Have a great day!

nerdy,

After you start the service as described, do you still see the same error in MAX? If so, could you refresh the services list to make sure that the service is really started. I'm worried that something on your machine might prevent the services being started.

Is this problem being resolved? I have the same problem after installing 2010 version.

I did start the follow the link

url: http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/F24AA9FB6A3A0E9D86257539006141BE?OpenDocument&metc=MAXTermina...

and the procedures, but the error still pops up. Can anyone help?

Hi smoothengine00,

Did you try going through the document that Margaret mentioned to clear Database corruption?  Also, did you restart both the NI Configuration Manager and the NI Device Loader services?

I did delete the database. After that the program runs fine and no more error message.

How come if MAX Database Corruptions are so 'rare' that you guys have your own tool to complete the process?  Smiley Very Happy

I had the same issue, as the 'NI Configuration Manager' process would not start and everytime I clicked on the devices icon it said the Database was exited abnormally.

I ran the MAX Database Corruption executable for LV2010 and it appears to be working now.

Thank you!!

PH

Just to be clear.

MAX database is also known as "XML hell"  It is really easy for people to fat finger a file that needs to be in a protected area.   Older versions of windows didn't require advanced privalages where those files hang out.
