McAfee has found a Trojan Horse in ...\LVREALTIMEBIOSUPDAT\MIB.CAB, is this real?

McAfee found a Trojan Horse in my new installation of LabVIEW version 2009.  It is in the file C:\NATIONAL INSTRUMENTS DOWNLOADS\LABVIEW\REAL-TIME PATCH\2009\PRODUCTS\LABVIEW_BIOS_UPDATER_80\LVREALTIMEBIOSUPDATER\MIB.CAB.  I've read about Trojan Horse problems in other NI files.  Is this a real problem?  Has any one at NI determined why these "false positives" are being reported?  A response to this would be greatly appreciated.  I don't like the idea of leaving a potential problem on my computer.

It is highly unlikely that you have a virus since the media you get from NI is checked. Anti-virus software is notorious for generating false positives. Most anti-virus programs have a means to tell them "hey, it's OK, this file doesn't have a virus, so you can stop being so paranoid, and stop bugging me.". Or something like that.

We have seen AV software detect false positives with some of our software.  At this point, the best course of action, as described in the forum linked above, is to send a false positive to the AV company.  They release updates all the time that may fix this issue.

Thanks everyone for your input.  I will send a false positive to McAfee and keep working.  Thanks again.
