Measure angular position and linear position from 2 encoder using USB 6008

I am going to measure angular position and linear position from 2 incremental  encoder  using USB 6008.  Which mean at least 4 counters are required according to my knowledge , is that correct? ( A and B signal from each encoder gives 4 counter requirement)

When I configure DAQ with counting edges mode it shows only one supported physical channel in usb 6008. I am not sure whether to add other channels to connect 4 encoder signals. Please give any  suggestion for this. Or if this is not possible what hardware would you recommend ?

Can I used USB 6211 ?

Hi Danu,

Unfortunately, the USB 6008 only has one counter, you can find this information in the 6008 User Manual on page 27. The USB 6211 has two counters, you can find this information in the USB 621X Manual on page 8-1 (actual page 98). There is an example you will find useful: Measure Position and Velocity of Angular Encoder Using One Counter. What encoder are you using for the angular position and what encoder are you using for the linear position? Would you be able to provide more detailed specification on those?
