Memory usage Difference

Solved!
Go to solution

When I was trying to check the difference in the VI memory usage when the controls are places as Icons and Terminals. Surprisingly when I was using the controls as Icons the memory usage (shown in vi properties) is less than the controls when they are placed as terminals (Unmark the show as icon). Can anyone explain why this happens because I was thinking in the other way.

Have you purged the memory inbetween? Does the memory drop when switching back to symbols?

No I didn't do any change am just changing the control terminal to Icons and back to terminals. I see the memory now increased when I switch back the terminals with icons without closing the vi (Confused Smiley Indifferent). Now I have closed and opened again and it is showing lesser than before and I did for the Icons and as terminals and both shows same.

I think you see the effects of the undo-history.

Benchmarking such things is not as easy as it might look like 😉
