Meter Control resizing

When I reduce the size of the meter control by dragging the corners the top of the numbers at the peak of the crest are cut off.

Is there a way to resize the graphics of the meter control?

Right click the control and select Advanced>>Customize. Click the wrench on the toolbar and you can now edit the different parts of the control. 
One of the frames controls the visible area for the scale labels (the second to largest frame) and you can modify it to be larger after you resize the control.
