Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library - Runtime error!

Hi!

My data acquisition application continues generating unexpected error messages. For example, after a day, I get a runtime error on Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library. The file that crashes my application is nicitdl5.exe and it says:

This application (nicitdl5.exe) has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an usual way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information.

Could anyone help me please?

Many thanks,

Toni.

PS. I use LV 7.0 Express with Max 4.0. The version of the drivers installed is 8.1. I use MS Windows XP SP2. No antivirus and firewall are used.

Based on the information you have given, it is hard to say what could be going wrong. Can you please try to create a small stripped own VI that exhibits the problem so that it can be investigated in more detail?

Thanks
Pramod

Was this issue ever resolved?  Does anyone have more input to what can be causing such an error? I understand that this thread is very old, but I have a similar problem at the moment.

An executable that runs just fine on multiple machines is popping up this kind of error on a different PC with the same version of windows and LabVIEW Development Suite installed.

Since I installed Labview (2011), I get this error twice each time I boot XP, before I even start up Labview.  How do I get rid of this?

Is NIcitdl5.exe a National Instruments program?  If so, what does it do, and what is this error?

This DLL is the interface to the historical database used in the LabVIEW Datalogging and Supervisory Control module. It originally was a self contained database engine that originated from the Lookout software but got eventually changed to use the Microsoft SQL Server Express edition database engine.

It may be that you have installed the Datalogging and Supervisory Control module in an older LabVIEW installation and it did not get proberly removed when you uninstalled that LabVIEW version.
