THe driver uses a function from Labview VISA, that is used to communicate with Serial RS-232. 

Assuming you have a USB to RS-232 converter on your computer, the RS-232 cable needs to be wired to the Motor drivers tx, rx and gnd. 

as for how to use it, follow the communication's protocol example on page 74 6.3.8
