Missing EthernetIP CIP Set Attribute Single.vi in LabView2014

Solved!
Go to solution

We are running LabView 2014 trying to convert a vi originally developed under Labview 2010.  The exe (built under 2010) works properly.  When I've attempted to bring up the vi, though, I get error messages indicating that I have several missing sub-vi's including EthernetIP CIP Set Attribute Single.vi (Get is also missing).  When I tried to edit the vi using Labview 2010, no joy - same problem.  There are some other missing sub-vi's also, but I hope that any useful ideas for dealing with these two might carry over to resolving the others.

I've tried installing (or re-installing) the NI Industrial Communications for EtherNetIP - EIP Download.  That didn't help.  Does anyone have any idea what I need to do to resolve this?

Thanks.

Hi tdz2000,

Which versions of the EIP driver are you using in LabVIEW 2010?  Which one are you using in LabVIEW 2014?  Can you provide a MAX Technical report?  You can see how to get one of these here: http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/271F252B4EF0A2E0862570E70056A1E4

Can you send some screenshots?  Are you seeing boxes with question marks in them for certain VIs or is it all EIP VIs?

Thanks!

Thank you.  It looks like the problem is solved.  Between some advice from our local LabView guru to point to the missing sub-vi's in the ethernetip library and your suggesstion to generate a MAX report (which helped me find the library in question), I was able to get this fixed.

It was a small problem, I know (I've been doing embedded software for a while), but since I am a rookie dealing with LabView, it was a rather large problem for me.  It's great to know that NI support staff are monitoring this forum and ready to jump in to help.
