Missing I/O VI in Tutorial Activity examples

I am just learning LabVIEW 6.0 through the tutorial activities. I am getting an error that says that I should "Please find 'Write Characters to File.vi'". On Activity 6, I get this error when I select either "Using Spreadsheet Format" or "Waveform Arrays to File" under the File I/O heading. Without the file, I can't fun the activities. Any ideas? Thanks.

You can find the Function "Write Characters to File.vi" normally here:
..\vi.lib\utility\file.llb

Hi,

look to this path, there you can find the vi:
..\vi.lib\utility\file.llb

Thank you, Thomas.

I am still having a problem. When I look where you suggested, I get the answer that "C:\Program File\National Instruments\LabVIEW 6\vi.lib\utility\file.llb is not a readable file VI library."

Does anyone know why I can't open this VI? Is it because I have too basic a version of LabVIEW?

I am interested in using the VI in order to learn how to write to files, which I would use in performing some simple analysis of neuronal spike train data.

It sounds like you have a corrupt file. Have you tried reinstalling LabVIEW? Also, if you're using 6.0, you should download the update to 6.0.2. There were a lot of bugs in 6.0.

It's now working on a different computer. Thanks for your attempted answers.
