@billko - if you look at the project I attached, there is literally nothing in it but a test VI that writes from a boolean control to a boolean indicator, so I have doubts about that.
@elcaverado - I did try pointing to that installer (though I'm not sure what folder level of the installer I should be selecting). No cigar... I'm sure it works in some cases. But since I can't build any installers without it asking for those, I think my best option is to reinstall. But I'll list this as solved for now.
