I'm working on Win XP, with a USB IRDA port.
I'm having some trouble with IRDA comms in LabVIEW (see this post)
http://forums.ni.com/ni/board/message?board.id=170&thread.id=378883
and I'm trying to see what information is being sent through the IRDA port at a very low level.
I'm trying to use Sysinternals (now MS) Portmon.exe which I downloaded from:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896644.aspx
I can't see an information in the Portmon screen at all when the device is connected an running, and I have no Serial devices to test Portmon with. I have used Portmon before at another comapany on Serial devices and seen so much information I had to filter out just the ports that I wanted to watch. I'm currently seeing nothing.
I have another IRDA device which can bee seen as a serial port in Hyperterminal, but as only ASCII charatcers are displayed and I want to see Hex, this is no use. Portmon is not picking up from this other device either.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can debug the TCP/IP comms at the Port using Portmon or some similar program so I can see the difference between the send and recieve signals in a LabVIEW and a C Based program?
Any help would be much appreciated as I know very little about this subject.
