but XControls have the same rules as normal VI (well almost) and even there it is not possible to create controls on demand. You could do such things with the picture control, but it is very very hard.
Like I said; I don't know much about XControls. But I thought I saw a VI somewhere with XControls in a array. By resizing the array it was possible to change the number of controls/indicators on the front panel. And of cource they are all the same.
