I had fun putting LV-RT and a PXI chassis inside the first LabVIEW-powered battlebot (www.botlabs.com).  If you watched Battlebots or Robot Wars a few years ago, you probably realized that those "robots" are really just remote-controlled vehicles.  Our goal was to use LabVIEW to add some smarts to the bot to obtain a competitive edge.  Ours wasn't an autonomous robot, but rather what we called semi-autonomous.  We competed once before dismantling it for an upgrade.  The project is a bit stalled at the moment, but we have a Compact-RIO system that will make the next version even better...

Wow! Being a relative newbie to LabVIEW, I have found this thread fascinating. I am trying to develop my skills with LabVIEW by writing a kiln controller that will allow me to pursue my glass art projects more easily. I want to build recipes as csv files, and have the temperature / time profiles executed through a home-made PIC power controller. Rather straight forward application of LabVIEW, only "interesting" part for me is I get to use the tool in my art studio, -read garage  😉  when I get it done.

Caki,

It seems you got lost and posted offtopic in an existing thread. I would recommend to start a new thread, using a descriptive title.
