My Application Builder has disappeared

I've just received a new PC at work, and have migrated my applications and data over.  After installing LabVIEW and the Application Builder, the app builder does not show up under the Tools menu as it used to.  Thinking I had done something wrong during installation, I removed the installation (using the app builder CD), then re-installed it.  It still doesn't show.  Do app builder and XP not get along?  Is there something else going on?  Thanks in advance for your help.

I've not had any problems with it on XP.

Are you sure the Abriged Menus "feature" isn't just hiding the App Builder in the menu?

Look at the bottom of the menu and see if there's a small double arrow. If there is, click it and it will expand to show the entire menu.

You can turn this feature off in the LabVIEW options.

If that's not it, I think LabVIEW installation phone help is still free. Might want to give them a call on this one.

Thanks, Ed.  I was hoping it was just hiding on that Abridged Menus thing... it's evidently not.  I tried another uninstall-and-reinstall thing to no avail.  It's looking like I'll have to make a call next unless someone else responds with the real solution before then.

See if the App Builder library is in the correct location.

Browse to "C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW 7.1\project" directory and look for a file named "prodisttool.llb". If it's there, double click it and see if opens in LabVIEW. Something in the library could be currupted causing not to show up in the menu. If it does open, not sure why it wouldn't be showing up.

Another thing to consider, are you sure you have the correct version of the builder? Each version of LabVIEW has it's own version of the installer. So you can't install builder 7.0 into LabVIEW 7.1.

Hi, Ed.  I found the ...\project directory, bu tno "prodisttool.lib".  Then after reading your second paragraph, I noticed that the label on my CD case states "VER 7.0 FOR WINDOWS...".  I'm using LabVIEW 7.1, so it looks like I need to go back over to the cabinet and look for a 7.1 app builder, right?

Correct, you have to have the right version. It probably did install, but into a ..LabVIEW 7.0/project directory.
