My application freezes up when I plug in additional USB devices?

Ok, so everything is ok until you actually try to use the devices, correct?

Does the USB scanner emulate a serial device or is it like a keyboard wedge?

If its a serial device, can you scan barcodes into hyperterminal?

If it's a keyboard wedge, can it scan barcodes into notepad?

Today we built a new PC and only connected the USB-6009 and ran the executable. So there was no barcode scanner or camera connected to the new PC. The program still froze and quit talking to the device. I did notice the the LabView 2012 is a 32 bit install. Since our operating system is a 64 bit, could this possibly be causing the issues?

Hi damhunt,

That seems unlikely. LabVIEW 32-bit should be fine on a 64-bit operating system.

Here are some frequently asked questions that provide some insight into the relationship between 32 and 64-bit LabVIEW.
