I'm using a NI-9265 as a relay driver. When the chassis is powered down or, the USB comm cable is disconnected or, when the the PC that the chassis is connected to is powered down there is a current surge that pulsing the relay. The specs shows that the "Startup current" and the "Power-down current" are 0.0ma. This doesn't happen when the +Vsup/Com is disconnected from the DC power supply. The relay driver is comprised of a Darlington pair that has a 1.5K resistor for current limiting on the base and a 250 ohm resistor connected to Rbase (1.5k) to emitter and ground (current generates voltage across 250 ohm resistor to bias base to emitter. Questions are:
1) this unit is not operating according to the spec., is there a way to force it to 0ma upon powerdown with Labview?
2) disconnecting the +Vsup is the only way I can see to alleviate this problem, is there a better way to do this?
