NI 9862 CAN Missing in MAX

Solved!
Go to solution

Again, following the article was a recommendation to filter out any possible bad installation. If you can’t add the module offline then you are facing a software corruption issue (in this context you would need to reinstall the software).

I configured a controller and a chassis on my end and took a couple screenshots of the expected behavior. The module is not visible in MAX but you can use it in LabVIEW (check the shipping example).

I found a couple knowledge bases that you can check to solve the problem (4FCHS33U & 42G1ETEI). If the problems persist please contact NI's support department to deeply troubleshoot the errors.

Kudos to you Alejandro!!  I have read every document that was recommended, but to be honest, there is so much information that it can get confusing.  As with most programming languages & hardware, I'll get the hang of it with some experience.  We will definitely follow your advice.  I have already contacted someone in the academic support services NI provides.  It's nice having a forum that allows us to quickly try stuff out first.  We have successfully created a new project, let NI discover the hardware, and see the hardware in the project.

Thanks again,
