NI ELVIS I board compatibility with LabVIEW versions

Which versions of LabVIEW are compatible with the NI ELVIS I board? I currently have LabVIEW 6, and I was wondering if this is compatible with the NI ELVIS I board.

Also, does anyone know how to download LabVIEW 8.6.1 onto Windows 7 and Windows XP? I understand that Windows 7 and XP came out after LabVIEW 8.6.1, but is there a way to download it?

I remember (but not fondly) the Elvis 1, which our local NI Saleman sold to our University just before NI released the Elvis II.  Needless to say, a year later, we could not get them running with any of the current versions of LabVIEW -- they were basically never used!

LabVIEW 8.6 probably runs on both Windows XP and Windows 7.  I remember that when Windows 7 came out, we could not install LabVIEW 7.0 on it without doing some "tricks" that bypassed the normal NI installation procedure.

I would recommend you contact NI directly.  If you have a valid license for LabVIEW 8.6.1, they should be able to help you get it through some mechanism.

Thank you for your reply! I tried to download it using the "trick" described here:

but it was still giving me errors after installation. I contacted NI but they told me to reach out to this forum first.

Do you know if LabVIEW 19 is compatible with NI ELVIS 1 boards?

I would seriously doubt it.  The Elvis I was replaced by the Elvis II more than a decade ago.  NI drivers are designed to be "backwards-compatible" for 5 years, but not >10 years.  As I said, we never (even starting a decade ago) to get our Elvis I boards to do anything useful with LabVIEW -- we now use them as "dumb" Power Supplies ("because they are there", and the Powers-that-Be are too stubborn to admit their errors, throw them away, and get students to purchase their own myDACs or myRIOs ...).
