Did you mean:

NI HyperTrend Control raises the CPU usage of NI Citadel DB and freezes it.

When a VI uses NI HyperTrend Control to fetch data from NI Citadel DB, the CPU usage of citadel is raised up to 10% and stops working.

I don't know what "stops working" means since my coworker told me so.

How can the control be prevented from freezing citadel?

Hey iCat,

I'm sorry that this problem is occurring.  Could you please get a little more information about the issue from your coworker?

1) What does "stops working" mean?

2) Does the VI continue to run?

3) Does the crash/freeze occur at the same time every time?  Or does the program run longer sometimes?

4) Do you get any sort of error message? Screen shots of any error are always helpful!

Best,

1) When a hypertrend control connects to citadel, citadel's CPU usage rises to and is maintained at 10%, and all connections are refused since then.

Therefore, a user has to manually restart citadel to make it responsive again.

2) VI containing the control continues to run

3) It freezes citadel every time.

4) There is no error message.

Hey iCat,

Does the Trace View in MAX work?

What version of LabVIEW are you running?

Can you run the Hyper Trend control without linking it to a particular trace?

Can you use the Hyper Trend control without starting your VI?

Best,

1) Does the Trace VIEW in MAX work?

yes with 3 signals(traces?)

2) What version of LabVIEW are you running?

9.0 SP1

3) Can you run the Hyper Trend control without linking it to a particular trace?

yes

4) Can you use the Hyper Trend control without starting your VI?

yes

5) And he has another question.

Please refer to the attached image.

For now, if he wants to put Va/Vb/Vc in Y axis of a hyper trend control, he has to do it in the front panel.

He wants to put it in Y-axis via a property node in the block diagram.

Is it possible?

So when exactly does the problem occur?  You said that you can use the Hyper Trend control without starting your VI.  Does it only freeze once the VI is started?  Does it freeze if you don't connect any traces to it?  Are you monitoring data as it is being collected?  Or are you reviewing post test data?

Try and give me a detailed description of how you make the problem occur, and then what you do to get it working again.

Thanks!
