NI-IMAQdx vs. NI-IMAQ

Dear

from  manual i find that NI IMAQDX  VIs is used for GigE Vision cameras and IEEE 1394

and NI-IMAQ VI  is used for usb camera

the problem is I am now using IMAQDX with USB.2 camera and work fine

also during read from web is see this note  http://www.ni.com/white-paper/10111/en/ 

that NI IMAQdx can be using for any usb camera !!!!\

this confuse me

NI-IMAQdx driver software is for FireWire (IEEE-1394), Gigabit Ethernet (GigE), DirectShow-compatible USB and IP cameras.
