Hello all
I have a problem during installation of Developer Suite 2011 DS2.
I get the following error message, which appears after LabView is 99% done installing:
"An error occured while installing LabVIEW 2011. Do you want to continue installing the remaining products?"
The "remaining" products show the same error if I continue...
My machine is a brand new Dell Precision M4700 with Windows 7 (64bit), 8GB ram, 750GB harddrive and i7 processor.
I have tried copying the entire installation to the local drive, and running it in Vista SP2 compatibility mode to no avail.
Ideas?
I only try to install LV, Internet toolkit, VI analyzer and TestStand.
This works fine on my other Dell with 32 bit Windows 7.

Which DVD is in the drive when you get the error? DVD 1? One thing you could try is installing just LabVIEW and see if that works, then just VI analyzer, then TestStand, and try to isolate where it goes wrong and if goes wrong in the same place every time. Could be a bad DVD if its in the same place every time or a bad DVD drive if the error happens randomly.
You should be able to get a replacement DVD set if the DVD is bad.

Hi all.
I just wanted to follow up on this one. I have talked to Kim, and we have tried different things, like installing different versions, only installing TestStand and so on.
So far, we came to the conclusion, that since the DVD's is working on other Win7-images, their could be a problem with the image that Kim's IT department is using.
Kim has promised me an update, if they solve this specific issue with Win7-image / corrupted installation.

Hi
Here's an update. I've tried installing 2012 DS1 which also fails. And the same installation works on another Windows 7 64bit machine (but with a different image than the one on my laptop).
I have installed LV, this time with logfile active (setup.exe / log <output>).
The interesting (?) thing is in my opinion these lines (from the bottom):
<Suite::~Suite file=".\Suite.cpp" line=215>
Exiting with return code -1073741819
According to what I could locate on Google this indicates an access violation in C++ programs.
Could this be a clue?
I have disconnected the pc from our domain and running setup.exe with administor privileges does not change anything.
I have also looked in the Windows Event Viewer, which shows the following:
Faulting application name: setup.exe_unknown, version: 3.0.0.408, time stamp: 0x4e668f6d

Hi
I got a custom LV/TS image from the hotline which worked. But why the install DVD doesn't work is still a mystery.
I have tried to use a different setup.exe (which I was told could fix the problem), but so far no luck (I have tried a setup.exe from 2013 DS2 so far.).
I will keep you posted.

Hi
I'm having the same problem. How did you resolve this problem? Did you find out what the cause was?

Hi
No, not exactly. I got new, alternative, installation packages from NI which works fine. I accepted this as a fix since we used more than a week and never found the cause.
NI can only conclude, that "something" is happening with the setup.exe from the DVD's which makes the installation fail.
