Just to confirm because you didn't explicitly state it, you installed the 64-bit version of Windows 7 right? Windows 7 can be installed as 32-bit or 64-bit.

I would suggest getting in touch with NI's support about this as they'll be able to troubleshoot the issue better but I suspect that perhaps it might not like installing LabVIEW 2012 64-bit when the 32-bit version is already installed but I suspect it would work fine if you had installed them both together. This is just speculation though...I don't think there should be a problem installing the 64-bit version after the 32-bit version is already installed.

Could be the order of the installation.

As you already have installed the LabVIEW 2013.

Normally LabVIEW can't install older versions when a higher version is installed.

You can easily install older versions of LabVIEW if you already have one installed.  It's no different than installing new versions.  They're separate installs rather than updates.

I have- Often.  Just be careful if you install a very old version that you don't install the app builder (most modern installers chck if a newer appbuilder is installed 7.1 once gave me a surprise though!)

You also have to watch out for drivers.  If you try to install the old drivers, they will not install.  You will want to reinstall the newest drivers if you want to use them with your older version of LabVIEW (assuming the drivers are compatible with that version of LabVIEW).

Most people that really work with LabVIEW have tried.

OP, have you tried installing in a different directory?  Did you accidentally try to install in the same folder as the 32-bit version?
