NI MAX used to work but now I get 'NI-max encountered a problem'.

I installed Ni Max some while ago, which worked fine until recently. Now I get 'Ni-max encountered a problem' whenever I try and look at the devices list. There have been no recent computer hardware or software changes. Existing programs that use the GPIB interface still work but I can't interface with newly added peripherals. I've reinstalled all NI software with no success.

Hi there,

My 1st recommendation would be to uninstall all NI software and then reinstall, but it sounds like you've already tried this. Did you just go through the add/remove programs utility or did you also clean up the registry?

Which versions of driver software are you using (including MAX), if there are newer drivers available, I would recommend upgrading to these and see if that helps. I believe the most recent version of MAX is 4.0.

Thanks for this. I had another go at reinstalling s/w but rather than select 'remove' NI software, I used 'change', selected all the NI components, and then 'uninstall'. This seems to have done the trick.

Regards
