NI PCI 6025E Card in MAX

Hello guys,

I am trying to conduct a Selftest and Selfcalibration of my NI PCI 6025E card in MAX but unfortunately I am getting the errors which I do not understand. It simply says that the Selftest cannot be carried out and it gives two different error codes (-200020 and -200329). About a month ago, when I used the card for the last time, there was no problems with it at all.

Could someone tell me what those errors exactly mean?

Best regards,

Jolanta

Hi Jolanta,

the error messages are quite clear: no self-calibration possible…

How old is that PCI card?

(Have you tried to do an unplug/plug cycle to clean the PCI contacts and make sure the card properly connects with your PC?)

Best regards,
GerdW

Thanks you for the quick response!

What I meant is that if that error means that the device was broken and dead or there is just some software problem which can be solved somehow...

Yes, I tried to take out the card from my PC and plug it in once again but it did not help...

I think this card is pretty old, it was taken out from an old machine and it can be even 8 years old...

Do you have any ideas what could be the reason?

Thanks you!

Hi Jolanta,

when the computer (and MAX) detects the card with all settings/parameter the "basic connection" (like PCI socket etc.) is ok.

In MAX you also can read the serial number and other information, so the driver can communicate with the card.

But when MAX refuses to calibrate or even self-check the card there is something "broken". Did you call the manufacturer of that card (aka NI) and ask for help? What did they say?

Best regards,
GerdW

I already wrote an email to Technical Support, I am waiting for a response.

I also tried to check my device with DAQ Diagnostic Utility and its not working properly either. The diagnose starts and it stops after some steps and does not go further:

24.10.2018 10:35:42
Results saved to:  C:\Users\Admin\Desktop\Diagnostic Results.txt
Selected Device: Dev1
Device Type: PCI-6025E
Serial Number: 12E16C6
Device Support: (PASS)
NI-DAQmx Version: 16.0 (PASS)
Device Reset: (PASS).

And after Device Reset ist not getting any further. Since the Diagnose is not even starting the Calibration, Counters and so on, I guess something serious is going on.

Anyone have any idea what else could I check?

Edit:

Maybe it will also be important, that when I open the TestPanels (after the warning that Self test could not be done) I check the digital inputs, and although there card cable is taken off (no input signals for the card) all the inputs in port0 are high:

Thanks for any help.
