Helow,
I have been using NI distributed System Manager to read OPC variables from NI OPC server. The system was operating perfectly for years untill the last windows 10 update KB4056892. After that update the OPC variables of the OPC I/O server in the NI distributed System manager stops updating.
The solution is to uninstall that windows 10 actualization. By the moment I have deshabilitate the automatic windows 10 update (just disabling the windows update service, in services).
I hope this info will be usefull for others.
Regards
Miguel

This happened to us today after Windows 10 update KB4056888. All the shared variables that we read via a KepServer OPC server showed up as having no values in NI Distributed system manager 2015. Our application could not read those shared variable values either. The KepServer configuration quick client did show that the variables were updating.
After uninstalling update KB4056888, our application and the NI distributed system manager worked properly again.
Thanks for posting Miguel, that was very useful!

Here's an excerpt of an email I received today from NI regarding this issue:
"The behavior you've encountered is a known issue and unfortunately the only workaround we have right now is to uninstall the update that caused the issue. The issue is due to components from Microsoft so we're waiting for information or an update from either Microsoft or Kepware to let us workaround the issue while maintaining required security."
