I am using LabVIEW 2020 SP1 with FPGA. I also have CompactRIO 20.5 drivers installed. So basically the latest software available for LabVIEW FPGA control with CompactRIO Target support.
I make a new project and use Add->Targets or devices... then open Ethernet RIO for it to search available devices in the network.
It detects the NI9146 but says with an exclamation mark "This device is not supported by your LabVIEW environment."
I go to NI-MAX, right-click on remote systems -> Troubleshoot Remote System Discovery then choose EthernetRIO, NI9146. Click next and it says (see image below):
"NI 9146 is compatible with LabVIEW 2020 SP1".
BUT "NI 9146 was last supported by NI CompactRIO 19.6".
What should I do now then? Is it possible to add on top of CompactRIO 20.5, CompactRIO19.6? Or I have to uninstall CompactRIO 20.5?
Or completely remove EVERYTHING and install an earlier version of LabVIEW?

I tried installing CompactRIO 19.6 on top of CompactRIO 20.5 but as I expected, it won't let me do it because there already is a newer version installed.
So I uninstalled CompactRIO 20.5 and installed 19.6.
Now when I go to Troubleshoot Remote System Discovery, it says "This configuration requires NI CompactRIO 20.0 or later"!
Probably because LabVIEW 2020 SP1 is not compatible with CompactRIO 19.6.
LabVIEW installation is such a pain!

Hi,
this side is the best resource:
Select the NI-9146, and it tells you more or less the same as your troubleshouting call, with one important difference, LabVIEW compatibility: 2011 to 2019 (and not LV 2020 !)
To summarize: If you want to use this chassis, you have to use LabVIEW 2019 or earlier.
