Hi all,
I need some help with a system I am trying to put together.
I have projects that are of research/pilot plant in nature and require the need to communicate with a large amount of different devices. Predominantly the devices have the following means of getting the readings; Analog, Modbus/TCP, Modbus RTU, OPC DA.
Also my clients are familiar with Labview and would like to us it to easily make connections to the devices, to be able to display, manipulate, and log data.
The DSC module does this, but it is a product NI is not really supporting and does not seem to be able to help solve issues I was have with a previous project.
So I was wondering if somebody has an alternative to the DSC that will easily work with labview? I would like to be able to setup something like an IO server that would look after all the communications, alarms and history functions, leaving labview to display and send commands to the server.
I was thinking of Cogent Datahub, or something similar, that has the ability to bridge all my modbus and OPC DA to OPC UA. Does anybody have any experience with this type of approach. Maybe there is a NI solutions that I am not aware of?
