Back in LabVIEW 6 and 7 the Read From Spreadsheet File was not polymorphic, so you only had the version that read in a text file and returned numbers. However, if you open the VI you will see instructions on the block diagram on how to modify it so you can get strings, which is what you want in this case. It's been a long time since I've programmed in LabVIEW 6. Hadn't realized how much I'm so used to the automatic tool selection! ![]()
Try the attached mod as a starting point.
