I have a series of overlays in the VI. I wish to print only the top visible front panel without stopping the VI from running.

I'm not sure what you mean by "overlay"...can you explain this further?

You can use an Invoke Node, change the VI Server class to "VI" (right click on the header to do this). Then select the "Print Panel to Printer" method.
