New computer old setup

Solved!
Go to solution

Hi,

First I should say I am new in Labview so , some of the questions might sound stupid 🙂I have been using an old setup which has FP-1000F P-RTD-122 and FP-RLY 422 . I was using an old computer which has Windows NT with Labview 7.1. That computer died and I am now using and XP one  with Labview 8.5

I thought things will be easy, I will just  copy the files that I am using in the old computer and it will work in the new one but it did not happen like that.

I could not find any drivers for these hardwareI am not sure If I need one or notWhile loading the File it can not  find subfieldpoint.vi  file. I guess that is  what enables my RTD 122 and RLY 422 connect to Labview

Any  suggestions ?

Thank you

Erdem

The fieldpoint drivers are installed from a separate CD.  (I don't remember which version of LV starting coming with DVD's.)

Do you have any CD's or DVD's with your LV installation discs that mention Fieldpoint?

You can also download them from the NI website.  See here. http://search.ni.com/nisearch/app/main/p/ap/tech/pg/1/sn/ssnav:sup,catnav:du,n13:hardwareDriver,n8:1...

Thank you for your help ,

I need one more help , now labview asking me about configuration file . I suppose I had to copy that file from my old computer too but I did not and I do not have access to  that computer now.  I went MAX to find the devices ( i guess that how it should be done)  but I could not find my devices there.

do you alsohave suggestion for this problem?

Again Thank you

Are you able to see your FP-1000 in MAX?  You may need to set up the new resource so that your system sees it.  Are you using RS-232?  If you are, go into MAX help and select FieldPoint.  Type serial in the search box and read the article titled "Adding a FieldPoint Comm Resource to Your System."  This walks you through setting up your serial FP module so that you can use it.
