New to LabVIEW - Want to test it

I am extremely new to LabVIEW and running an evaluation version. I just want to test how it works. I've got a microphone as a device to test. Please guide how should I proceed.

Go to Help>>Find Examples and you should be able to find some sound related examples.

To learn more about LabVIEW, I suggest you try searching this site and google for LabVIEW tutorials. Here, here and here are a few you can start with and here are some tutorial videos. You can also contact your local NI office and join one of their courses.
In addition, I suggest you read the LabVIEW style guide and the LabVIEW user manual (Help>>Search the LabVIEW Bookshelf).

and ofcourse visit the NI forums and look at the help section of LabVIEW for your questions.
