Next Generation LabVIEW Features Technology Preview Manual

Found by chance here: Next Generation LabVIEW Features Technology Preview Manual

Shows a look reminiscent of the former LabVIEW Web UI builder, but this is obviously something different. The manual is far from complete (after all its a preview).

Any comment would be appreciated.

What kinds of  comments are you looking for?

It is code that generally looks like LabVIEW functions, but with a styling that is present in the USRP toolkit.

I don't know what product this is suppose to showcase. A possible future LV look? A different product? I couldn't figure from the site.

It's a safe expectation that features that are well received in the Next Generation LabVIEW Features build will make their way into LabVIEW itself in the future.

I'm sure all will be revealed next week at NI Week.  Think you can hold off that long?

Well, perusing the manual is quite entertaining already.

Goodbye Mac and Linux, and welcome to the new sequence structure:

Edit: it seems that some of the nodes are missing in the online doc.

- Additional Nodes

- Analysis Nodes >> Communications

- One Probability Node?

The C node is interesting.

It says it is only supported on Windows...

Of course it doesn't mean that down the road Macs will be supported again (assuming Apple still builds computers) and the microscopic Linux market will get its poor child's version of the development environment.

Perhaps X. is referring to the notes we see when we drill down to various G nodes and the documentation has entries like:

Installed By: ni__pnx_installed_since_unspecified

Where This Node Can Run:

Desktop OS: Windows

FPGA: Next Generation LabVIEW Features Technology Preview does not support FPGA devices

I would certainly hope this is some artifact of the documentation builder they used... they can't seriously mean that Windows is the only supported target.

Yeah Next Gen sounds awesome...if you travel. Smiley Tongue

We've seen a few products from NI recently that look like this. The Communication and Design Suite is one.
