No data displaying on waveform charts referencing historical database

We have several charts and graphs on our front panels for many of our vi's, some of which reference our historical database, and some do not. The graphs which do not reference the database are displaying data points as they always have. The ones which are referencing a historical database are not showing any of the data which they are intended to, yet they have in the past. We have determined that this problem is not confined to just one of our vi's aswell, and is concurrent throughout all of our vi's.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hello James,

It looks like the data isn't being retrieved from the Citdael historical database. If this was working before, and now none of such graphs update, I would try to query Citadel from, say, the MAX.

Can you see data in MAX (under Historical Data?). If yes, I would then create a test VI with a graph and invoke the HMI Wizard on it to quickly check if this works.

Also, if your DSC Engine is running when this happens, you can bring up the Engine Manager and click the Show Events check-box to see if there's any reference to the Historical logging being turned off.

I hope this at least gets you started in troubleshooting the issue.

Good luck!

Khalid

Hi Khalid, thanks for your response.

We have previously tried to retrieve and view our acquired data using the MAX Historical Trend Viewer. Even checking the Historical Trends in MAX will not yeild a dependable result, as sometimes we check MAX to find our data plotted and recorded as it should be, and as we should have been seeing it on the front panel as the data was logged, while other times we will check MAX to find that there is infact no logged data when there should have been.

For these times where data was successfully logged and can be viewed in MAX, the front panel graphs still refuse to display any data trend for the particular time in which we can see logged data in MAX.

We have also checked to ensure that the Historical logging op
tion is set such that we should be logging our data.

I hope this helps to clarify and maybe shine some light on what our problem may be. Thanks again for your help Khalid.
