Ocean Optics HR4000 Port Changing

I am working with the Ocean Optics HR4000. We just received a new computer loaded with Windows 7 64bit. I have downloaded the drivers from NI and I have been able to read the spectrum from the HR4000 Using Labview 2012. When the HR4000 loads, we have run into a problem where the port is changing. It will change from 40006::RAW to 30006::RAW. Is there something I can do to make this more stable? Something I can do to stop the port from changing? I have thought about running a simple subvi to scan the ports and simply use the one with RAW in the description of the port, but not sure that is the best solution. We were using this spectrometer with Windows XP and did not see these problems, along with the fact that this is a production station and we can't have the operators constantly trying to get the station running.

Thanks for any assistance,

Dave

Greetings DMerchen.

Your idea of scanning the ports seems like a good idea, specially since there seems to be only two options: 4006 or 3006. I am a little unclear o how the bahavior happens, does the port changes happen at start up or during execution?

Please explain to us a little bit more in detail what is going on so that we can help you better. Have a nice day.
