'Open FPGA VI reference' wires broken in labview 2018

Solved!

Hi guys,

I am working on upgrade of test software, The old software version is labview  8.6. The goal is deploy the software on labview 2018 (64bit); WIN10. But I have encountered some problems about FPGA module.  The older version for 'Open FPGA VI reference ' requested a resource name on the function block. But there is no terminal for this in labview 2018. I have tried to delete the resource name,But still some errors are over there. Would you please help to give some advice on how to fix it?

  Thanks a lot.

Why do you try to delete the "RIO device" reference when the error message is pretty clear about the reason?

You need to install support files/drivers for your target!

Best regards,

Hello GerdW,

  Thanks for your quick reply.

I tried to install the driver NI-RIO and restart the PC,But the same problems were happened. Could you please inform which correct drivers need to be installed? The RIO board is PXI-7833R. I never used it and FPGA function before.

  Thanks again.

Edit: I'm leaving the stuff below for future readers, but you should ignore it and instead check this link: Software Support for CompactRIO, CompactDAQ, Single-Board RIO, R Series, and EtherCAT

Unfortunately, it appears 2016 is the last version to support the PXI-7833R. I think this means you'll need to pick an older LabVIEW version (or update your hardware).

I'd suggest taking a look at the Getting Started documentation, which features a section describing the required software.

My guess would be you might need to check your RIO driver installations - something like "R Series Multifunction RIO Devices" or "NI-RIO 18.0 for LabVIEW Real-Time" might be what you need.

You can find this via the link or under "Browse Products" in NI Package Manager.

Hello cbutcher,

   Thanks for your reply.

I have checked the RIO driver version, It is latest one(19.5), As the description, It seems not possible to use it under Labview 2018. I will go back the earlier RIO driver to try. Anyway it is very appreciated for your support.
