Can Labview run .P files? is it the same way as runing MS DOS .exe files?

Hi Adam,

you really should learn to provide needed information in the first place!

What are you talking about: Pascal, Python or Matlab files?

General answer: when you can "run" these files in a Shell/Command window you can call them also from LabVIEW…

Best regards,
GerdW

Hi Adam,

then you should ask the operator/administrator of that (stone old?) "DOS based" computer!

Does those "P files" run on a modern Windows PC (or the PC you want to run LabVIEW on)?

Best regards,
GerdW

Hi GerdW,

The programs were originally done on Pascal Turbo, and due unique words that are add into system 32 it can only run on the one computer at the moment, (these are needed as it runs an ARINC 429 card (aviation radio signal generator))

Many Thanks

I have the feeling, if you have the Turbo Pascal source file, you could just recreate the application in LabVIEW. You just need to get a new interface card which is compatible with your application and a modern PC... Would not be easier to go this way?

I do not have any knowledge about such HWs, but just after some googleing, i have found this:

I'd like to understand the reference to 89 years as well. ARINC was developed in the late seventies. Still widely used.

NI sells ARINC cards with LabVIEW drivers so that is one option.
