PC-DIO-96/PnP PN Compatibility

I am having problems with recognizing the subject card in my computer.  The computer's OS is Windows 95 ver. 4.00.950 C.  The driver loaded is NIDAQ693.  I am replacing a defective PC-DIO-96/PnP, PN: 183549E-01.  I have noticed that the -01 has items U11, U16, and W2 not installed.  While the -02 has those items installed and U8, U12,R8, R9, C10, , and C14 are not installed and FL1 appears to be different.  Concerns I have is if these two cards are compatible and is the -02 as described PnP?  MAX 2.2 also does not find the -02 card in the computer.  Should I upgrade the OS and if so is Windows 95 with USB Support good or Windows 98?  I am also using LabView 5.0 with this system.

Any assistance you can provide is greatly appreciated.

Terry,

I'm not sure how to say this without sounding offensive---- Please do not take it personally!  Why are you using technology that is more than a decade old?  Cough up the dinero and upgrade! Everything!  OS, HARDWARE, LabVIEW, Device Drivers, Training, etc...

Terry,

In general with working with an application using the PC-DIO-96, we recommend migrating to the PCI - 6509 with the DAQmx driver support. This would require different setups from your computer and possibly reworking your program to use the DAQmx drivers, but it is the recommend upgrade path for applications you have for ease of use and programming, support, and usage.  If possible, I would recommend looking at a new piece of hardware or system for long-term applications, particularly if you intend to keep this particular application going for some time.

With that in mind, we can certainly try to troubleshoot what you are seeing with the PC-DIO-96. The two part numbers should be compatible with one another, though I'll have to look in to those parts you mentioned a bit more in detail for their exact affects on the systems. It shouldn't change what the computer or programs are seeing. You are saying that MAX 2.2 (with NI DAQ 6.9.3) isn't recognizing the card at all in the computer? Are you able to see this card in any other computers? Also, are you able to see the card at all from your programs or from the Windows Device Manager? Would you happen to have any other cards to try in that slot?

I don't believe an OS upgrade would be needed for this, as that card should continue to be supported with the drivers you already have, as it appears to simply be a different revision of the card.  Let me know as much as you can. Thanks.

I'm going to hazard a guess that since he has looked at the -02 version he has purchased it already.
