PNA VISA read speed is too slow (250 ms), any thoughts?

Hello,

I'm a relative newbie at Labview.

My specific problem is communication with an AG 5242 PNA.  I have it configured as a datasocket (my IT people couldn't figure out how to set it up as a VXI-11 LAN machine).  The AGPNA driver wouldn't work, it was choking on termination doing a read (I suspect because of the datasocket config).

I can communicate with the machine, but the VISA read is painfully slow (250 ms).  When I communicate with another instrument using the same simple program, the comm speed is around 12 ms.  Ergo, the problem seems to be related to the PNA.  I may try to configure it again as a VXI machine.

Anybody else have similar problems with the PNA?

Problem solved.          

We figured out how to config the PNA as a VXI machine (with a little help from Agilent)  and the slow read problem went away.
