PXI-8431/8 card Simulation in Labview

Hi All,

I'm new to Labview Development Environment. I have a query which I would like to clarify with you guys. I need to simulate PXI-8431/8 RS 422 Serial card and use it as resource in Labview for coding purpose. I tried adding DAQ-MX simulation instance in MAX and tried searching for this card but unfortunately couldn't find it in the list. Can anyone help me out in suggesting a method to simulate 8431 card in NI MAX? Thanks in advance

Hi Mohan,

RS422 is not related to DAQmx, so you cannot simulate this card by creating a simulated DAQmx device…

Thank you so much for your prompt reply. Now, I understand that we can't simulate 8431 card using DAQ-Mx simulation method. So, Is there any other means to simulate the Serial card?

Hi Madan,

AFAIK there is no other way in MAX. VISA-related hardware cannot be simulated in MAX.

You could create a HAL (hardware abstraction layer) in your software and write your own simulation for those COM ports…
