I have a technical inquiry regarding the use of a 68-pin VHDCI to eight DB-9 breakout cable. Specifically, I would like to confirm whether the following configuration is supported:
Is it possible to configure one of the DB-9 ports for a 4-wire RS-485 loopback (i.e., connecting TX+ to RX+ and TX– to RX– on the same port) for full-duplex testing, while simultaneously configuring two different DB-9 ports for a 2-wire RS-485 point-to-point connection to perform half-duplex communication between them?
In addition, I would like to verify if this configuration can be tested and validated using NI LabVIEW by leveraging the Simple Serial.vi and RS-485 Transceiver Control.vi. The goal is to setup both connections at the same time—one in full-duplex using the loopback setup (port 1) and the other in half-duplex using two DB-9 ports (port 2 & 3)—but to run the corresponding VI's individually at different times. I want to ensure that the VHDCI breakout and its corresponding port mappings support these simultaneous operations.
