Plot to Graphic File

Can someone help please? To generate documentation for a series of
tests, I would like to include pictures of the front panel ( or, just
selected plots) as graphic files ie jpeg or similar.

I know that it is possible to print the panel to capture data plots,
but it is difficult to include these in documentation. But I wonder
if it is possible to programmatically use the picture tools to convert
selected graphs to a 'picture' type and then send it to a file eg
*.png, or *.jpg.

While I have found VIs that save to file ' flattened pixel data', it
escapes how to convert the ' picture' type to flattened pixel data .

This seems to be a popular thing! Programmatically saving a front panel
image to a file can be done in the following manner.

1) Drop the vi.lib/utility/printvi.llb/Get Panel Image VI on your
diagram.

2) Drop the Graphics & Sound -> Graphics Formats -> Write JPEG File VI
on your diagram.

Wire the rectangle terminals together, data to flattened image data,
depth to depth, colors to color table, and error to error. Supply the
Get Panel Image VI with the VI name, color depth, and whether or not to
get the entire panel or what it visible, and supply the Write JPEG File
VI with a path, and that's it!

If it's just for documentation and you're running LV with Win 98 (or
maybe Win 95), then all you have to do is run yout LV application, get the front
panel screen on your display, and press the key to save a copy of
the screen to the clipboard. Then open your favorite text editor, like Word,
and paste the screen picture into a document.
