So, I'm completely and utterly lost here. Past my breaking point.
I have a polhemus fastrak. I need to get it to communicate with labview.
I have data I'm collecting from multiple potentiometers. That part is going great.
The problem is I will have a Fastrak Sensor that needs to be matched with each of these pots. It will give me a continuous digital output that I need to match to simultaniously aqcuired data.
I have contacted Polhemus and they've got nothing helpful. It's their oldest product and there is virtually no support for it.
I've googled and googled, I've read so many posts asking questions without getting answers.
I have a serial connection and a usb connection. The serial I have a usb on one end. And the serial is rs232 so it won't just like plug in to my DAQ (not that I think that would even work if it was the same)
This is my last ditch effort to try to get things working. Please, if anyone can help me?
Maybe if go through with MAX or something? I heard someone mention VISA? I don't even know. I just can't get them to talk and play nice.

I don't know anything about that sensor - but maybe I can help you find answers. The trick is to ask the right questions. Unfortunately your post contains virtually no starting points for potential helpers.
What exactly is not working?
The description of your hardware is confusing and incomplete. What's your DAQ, etc.?
What do you think is the first obstacle that needs to be overcome and why?
