Problem with Data Socket and *.sHTML

Is anyone aware of an issue with using a data socket, when feeding it an html string with and shtml extension it gets and FTP open error?

Hi ShotSimon,

I am not aware of this issue.  What is the error message that you are receiving?  Does it have an error code associated with it?  What version of LabVIEW are you using?

I'm guessing your not a Labview support person, because one of the questions you are force to answer is what version Labview you are using and operating system.

Labview 8.5 and Windows XP.  The error code is 1184.

That is an unbelievably rude reply to a simple question!  Smiley Mad

Donovan is an NI support person as shown by his blue bars.  NI is supporting versions of Labview from some of the earlier ones like LV 4 LV 5, through 6 and 7.  Three versions of 8.0 8.2 and 8.5 have just come out in the last couple years alone.  Labview runs on Win 2000, XP, Vista.  There are people still using Win95 98, and NT.  There are Mac users and Linux users.

All he asked were some basic questions to help you solve your problem.  Your original question had very little detail.  Basic details as to what you are running and the error code you got go a long way.  Otherwise any responses you would have gotten would have been a shot in the dark.

Please be a little kinder in your posts and it might help you solve your problem faster.

PS:  "You're" is the contraction for You are, not "your".

I found out the issue.  The *.sHTLM extension required a username and password.

It's interesting that Firefox doesn't require it and internet explorer does.  Labview requires it in the URL.  Maybe Firefox is handling a previous login with cookies.  I'm guessing Internet Explorer has some addition setting I'm missing.
