Problem with Quanser's Pendulum

I'm trying use a Furuta's pendulum of Quanser with NI ELVIS II. When I open the principal VI, the system needs the archive "SIM Halt.vi" to execute it. The problem is that in the DVDs, don't exists this VI. How can i solve it?. To this point, I have been intalled the librarys "daqmx", "elvismx and "cdsim".

Tell us about your system.

  • What version of Windows?
  • What version of LabVIEW (Year and release, 32-bit or 64-bit)?
  • What additional drivers (such as VISA, PXI)?
  • Is "cdsim" the Control, Design, and Simulation module?

Tell us about yourself, such as how much experience do you have with LabVIEW?  When you use DAQmx, do you use the Dreaded DAQ Assistant or have you learned how to use DAQmx functions?  If not, read "Learn 10 Functions in NI DAQmx and Handle 80 Percent of your Data Acquisition Applications" (I'm typing this title by memory, but a Web search should find it by the time you type "DAQmx").

I notice you seem to have multiple "versions" of LabVIEW installed (2019, 2022, 2025).  This could be quite problematic.  For example, the Elvis II appears (?) to be compatible with LabVIEW 2019, but not with later releases.  There is also a question about Windows 11 compatibility ...

Wild guess: Since it is expecting this VI in the "simulation" folder, maybe you need the Control Design and Simulation Module.

(Quote: The LabVIEW Control Design and Simulation Module helps you simulate dynamic systems, design controllers, and deploy control systems to real-time hardware.)
