Problems with File Dialog.vi on a Suse Linux System

Hello,

we do have a problem with the LabView "File Dialog.vi" on a Suse Linux 9.0 System and LabView 7.1
The problem is that as far as we call the VI the System hangs.
What you must know is that we do have directories which contain thousands of
measurement data files.
If we remove these files the VI works fine again.
Is this a known problem?
We already tried different file systems (Reiser FS, and Extended 2)
but the problem still exists.
Is there a max. number of files which can be present on the system that this VI works fine,
or are there any restrictions concerning the length of the file names?
Should we use another File System?

Best Regrads,

Markus

Hi Marcus,

we tried it with Suse Linux 9.2 and everything works fine. We have tried it with 4000 Files. How big are your files?

Hallo Rebecca,

Markus
