RS-232 RS-485 on Compact RIO

I would like to use the RS-232 com port on the CompactRIO 9000 series RT controller for RS-422 comms.  I understand that I will need a device to convert between 232 and 422 voltages, but can anyone show me example code to convince me it can be done easily?

I noticed the example of 232 comms using a CompactRIO DIO module, but can't we use the VISA drivers with the com port on the controller?   I've used the 783x FPGA card before but never the cRIO.

Hi,

I've had a look round for examples that show how to convert between 232 and 422. I would assume if you have a device that converts the physical connection from 232 to 422 then you would just program your device as you would if you were communicating over an RS422 port.

What is the 422 device you want to control?
