Re: Is Silverlight still in 2021?

Sorry my question was not really clear.

So basically I have followed this procedure : https://knowledge.ni.com/KnowledgeArticleDetails?id=kA00Z0000019LgPSAU&l=en-CH

I have 2 cRIOs running the same exe, one has labview RT 19 with ni c rio 19, while the 2nd is still with labview rt 19 but I upgrade to the new linux rt 21.3

If I go to the web client of my application with Internet explorer with this addres
http://169.254.1.154:8005/myapp

-> I acces directly to my app with linux 21

-> I obtain the autenthification page with the old ni crio 19

kdevelle_0-1636617022203.png

If I do the same with firefox, 1st case I reach my application, 2nd case I reach a page saying I need silverlight (this is expected)

What I don't understand is why with the same application, same user/groups/permission configuration, with linux rt 21 install on the crio, I don't have the NI Auth page anymore

Actually the procedure in the link on top is for lv11 and after and have been updated in december 2020, so it might be not valid anymore

Can you start a new thread on this issue? There are more questions to ask on this to get to the bottom of it.

Looks like NI took care of creating a new thread for us.

My team reviewed your issue, and we are pretty confident that your NIAuth settings are not the same between the old and the updated target.

By default, when LabVIEW deploys a web service that has permissions assigned to it, those permissions are added to the "everyone" group, which essentially means there are no permissions. You will need to go to NIAuth on the target, and remove your web services permissions from the everyone group, and then you should get the login dialog again. Let me know if this solves the issue.

Another big note... LabVIEW G Web Services still requires Silverlight! The login page as well as the application web server configurations were not yet ported over to the updated technology (as of LabVIEW 21.0). You will still need to use IE for any configurations of the application web server, or to login to your deployed applications.

Hello
So in the end I don't know what happen during update of the target, but I guess some setting changed. I re-did the configuration from scratch and I end again to the NI-Auth page that required silverlight. Any update on this?

It seems that silverlight was suppposed to be removed from lv21
