I found a web page that lists activeX methods for Adobe Acrobat:

I'm not sure you will be able to use the methods available to scan for, and copy an image. Is using pdf files a requirement of your project? It might be easier to manipulate other file types. You might also be able to work around the idea of "copy/paste" by printing a page of the pdf and saving it as an image file then inserting that image file into your slideshow.
